The Dr. Thomas F. Frist, Jr. Scholarship provides need-based scholarship for to up to three incoming students from Ensworth School in Nashville, Tennessee.
The scholarship is renewable for up to four years as long as the recipient is making progress toward a degree.
How to apply
To be considered, Ensworth School seniors should apply for admission to WashU. No separate application for the Dr. Thomas F. Frist, Jr. Scholarship is required. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
Thomas J. Frist, Jr. Summer Experience Program
Once enrolled at WashU, each Frist Scholar may apply through the Center for Career Engagement for a one time $5,000 stipend so that they may pursue a summer enrichment opportunity of their choice.
About Dr. Thomas F. Frist, Jr.
Dr. Frist, a co-founder of Hospital Corporation of America (today known simply as HCA, Inc.), received his medical degree from WashU in 1965. Education has always been especially important to Dr. Frist and his family. It is his hope that this scholarship will serve as further encouragement for students at the Ensworth School to attend WashU.
