First-year applicants
First-year applicants are students who:
- are currently enrolled in high school or secondary school (even if you’ve completed college credits while in high school) or
- have graduated from high school but have never enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree seeking program and
- are applying to become a part of the class entering in fall 2025
Applications must be submitted by the deadlines indicated and must be received complete no later than the complete date indicated.

Financial assistance application deadlines
The FAFSA will be available to all students December 1, 2024. All WashU applicants, regardless of admission decision plan, must submit the FAFSA by February 28, 2025.
Transfer applicants
You should apply as a transfer student if you:
- have finished high school/secondary school and completed some college study
- would like to be considered for admission with advanced standing at WashU
- are interested in enrolling full-time in an undergraduate degree program with a specific academic focus
- have never attended any of WashU’s full-time, degree-granting schools
Students applying for admission in Spring 2025:
- have completed at least one semester at another college or university
- are interested in transferring to the College of Arts & Sciences only
- International students must already be studying at a university in the U.S.

International applicants
International students are citizens or permanent residents of countries other than the United States who will be studying on a temporary visa.
The same deadlines listed above apply to both international first-year and international transfer applicants.
International applicants for transfer admission are not eligible for financial aid from WashU.
